Design Manchester Festival / Islington Mill, Salford

Design Manchester is an annual week-long festival that celebrates creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity across art, design, and digital innovation.

As part of the Design Manchester Festival 2018, I curated a series of events in collaboration with Salford Makers collective, drawing inspiration from Patrick Thomas’ The Protest Toolkit.

PRINT PARTY with Salford Makers served as the festival’s launch. Held at our studio at Islington Mill, this free event featured DJs, sponsors, and a selection of creative activities for attendees to engage in. From badge making to tote bag printing and fabric printing, there were ample opportunities for participants to express themselves creatively and connect with the community.

[RE]STITCH PRINT AND FORM Workshop with myself and Jessie Fewtril. Participants had the opportunity to design and screen print components for tote bags, which they then assembled themselves. This hands-on workshop was also inspired by elements from Patrick Thomas’ The Protest Toolkit, offering a creative platform for individuals to explore and express their ideas around freedom of speech and protest.
